Triadene Birth Control Pill - An Overview

Combined hormonal pills have been found to be quite popular amongst women who are looking for effective methods of preventing an unplanned pregnancy. One such combined pill that is popular amongst women is Triadene triphasic pill. Being a combined pill, Triadene consists of two synthetic versions of the naturally existing female hormones: oestrogen and progestogen. The active ingredients of Triadene are ethinylestradiol, synthetic oestrogen and gestodene, synthetic progestogen. A triphasic pill means that the dosage of oestrogen remains the same throughout, while progestogen is taken in three different dosages throughout the 21 days period.

The major benefit of using a triphasic pill  is that your body receives fewer amounts of hormones during certain times of your cycle in comparison to the monophasic pills such as Yasmin. This helps in imitating your natural womb environment more accurately and hence in being more effective in preventing you from conceiving. It also helps in reducing the risk of developing side effects of the pill. Triadene also helps in shortening and regulating your periods along with lessening the pain you experience during periods. On taking this combined pill, you may also start experiencing lighter periods.

Triadene is said to reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Another major advantage of this pill is that it reduces the risk of developing ovarian cancer or cancer of the womb lining. As is normal with any prescription medication, Triadene can also cause certain side effects in its users. Some of the commonly reported side effects of this combined pill are breast tenderness, decrease in your libido, nausea, spotting in between your periods and changes in your weight.
